Mid-Autumn Festival

Friday was Mid-Autumn Festival here in Hong Kong. That means that Hong Kong familys gather to have mooncake and watch the full moon together. We spent the day together with lots and lots of people in Victoria Park, which was set up for the event with Chinese opera, lanterns, more lanterns and stands advertising fortune telling and local delicacies.

The Saturday was spent in Macau, exploring an old church and the downtown Portugese inspired area as well as some casinos. The casinos did not meet our expectations. Where we wanted red carpets, tuxedos, and champagne, we met worn out interiors and regular people absent-mindedly wasting their money in gambling machines. The city was nice though.
